Short biography

Bea Pászthy, MD., MSc., PhD is the Associate Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at Semmelweis University, Budapest. She has founded the first Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Centre in Hungary in 2004 at Semmelweis University, Bókay Department of Paediatrics and chairs since then. She has also organized the EU harmonized Child and Adolescent Specialist Training Program at Semmelweis University and nationwide.

She holds a specialist degree in Paediatrics (1996), Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2002), Clinical Pharmacology (2003) and Psychotherapy (2009).

She is a trained and licenced CBT therapist (2006, Budapest), Family therapist (2008, Budapest), Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapist (2013, London), EMDR therapist (2014, London) and Cognitive Remediation Therapist (2014, London).

She is the Chair of the Hungarian Board of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,

President of the National Qualification Board of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Delegate of Hungary at the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), member of the Scientific Advisory Group in Child Psychiatry of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and co-founder of the Hungarian Council for Eating Disorders. She is engaged in medical university education, organizes graduate and postgraduate courses, national and international conferences on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Eating Disorders and Psychotherapy.
