Beáta Dávid, PHD

Sociologist. Professor and director of the Instituteof Mental Health. Co-ordinator of the doctorate programme IV/3 and vice-dean for Scientific and Educational affairs at Faculty of Health and Public Services, Semmelweis University. Research chair at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Centre for Social Sciences. Member of the Hungarian National Commission for UNESCO, President of HUNNET, the Hungarian Network for Social Network Analysis and Trustee Board Chair of Home Start Hungary.

Her research interest focuses on social network analysis, social capital, sociology of health and family. Current researches include the follow-up study of the families throughout the Transition period, the sociological study of the roma college network and the integrative and desintegrative processes in the Hungarian Society based on social network approach.

Published several papers and books. In 2007 with Fruzsina Albert she published a book on friendship: „Birds of a feather”  The sociology of friendship. In 2016 with four co-authors she wrote the book Family stories of the Transition. 25 years in the shadow of Budapest.
